Look what the Easter bunny left us.....

I LOVE the hollidays! I think they are more for me becuase it makes my heart fill with such happiness from seeing the excitedment and wonder in my childrens faces when they wake up remembering that it is a holliday day. Being a mother is the hardest thing EVER, but seeing your children still have that "sparkle" in their eyes from believing in the Easter bunny....it makes it all worth it! This Sunday morning was a little bit more chaotic, just because we have 8am church, so we couldn't let them enjoy thier baskets for very long.

This was the first time Cara got bubble tape.....I am not sure if that was such a good idea. She always wants gum when the other kids get some......she was soooo excited to get her own!

Isn't Lolly the cutest thing ever? Even if she still looks like she is half asleep?

Grant doesn't waste time when it comes to "the goods". He knows the routine of sorting out your candy so mom can put it in your own baggie. That way the grass gets thrown away ASAP becuase I loathe finding the stuff for days around the house!
Photobucket

I got a carrot! Ty really does LOVE carrots, so I just had to get the silly carrot eggs just for him.
Photobucket

Cara wasted no time at all devouring her candy. I knew the laffy taffy was a big hit with her.....she LOVES the stuff!
Photobucket

Lolly thought the little chick eggs were so darn cute...just like her!
Photobucket

What? I cannot eat it all RIGHT NOW, in ONE SITTING? That is the reason why I only put a little bit of candy in their baskets, becuase they will eat however much I give them RIGHT THEN. So mother got smart and only puts a tiny bit in the baskets, and then the rest goes in the candy jar on the counter to be dispursed sparingly, or eaten by the parents at will!

None of my kids like jelly beans. I thought I would "try again" with them and so I bought the lifesaver and jolly rancher kind to see if they would like them. Kris and I don't like them either, so it wouldn't break our hearts if we never had to buy them ever again. Ty was a trouper and tried them out first.....and he said that they "were not so bad" but that he would not eat a lot of them. Verdict: Driggs family + jelly beans = NOT HAPPENING!

Where's Cara?

After the LONG fun day at Grandpa and Grandma Driggs, the kids were so tired. We came home, had showers, said prayers, and tucked them all in bed. After a bit, I checked on all of them so I could get to work on "the baskets". Cara was not in her bed and no where to be found. I was in on the computer, so didn't even know she had gotten out of bed. I paniced a bit until i saw this....

I had left a pile of laundry that I had just taken out of the dryer on the couch and then went to check something on the computer. She always crawls into the warm clothes, only this time she snuggled right in and fell asleep

She was tucked down good in between the clothes and sofa. I love her to death.....she is such a snugglebug just like me!

Will someone come and fold and put away my laundry? I am really really tired.....

Easter at the Driggs

On saturday we went over to Grandpa and Grandma Driggs house to celebrate Easter and of course eat a yummy Easter dinner. Right when we first got there, Kris and Eddie hid all the eggs that Grandma had filled for each child. They had such a fun time hunting for them. Kris and Eddie were funny this year becuase they hid the older kids eggs in really hard places. They STILL were able to find them. Grandma makes equal amounts of eggs per child and writes their names on them so that the game is not dominated by my older kids. That way you just find the eggs with your name on them. We had some good laughs at the two littlest ones, Cara and Gage. Once they finally found and egg that was theirs, they were preoccupied with what was in it, becuase they knew it was candy, so they had to be "encouraged" to find their "other eggs with candy". We then came in and had a yummy Easter dinner of honey baked ham, sour cream (funeral) potatoes, veggies, fruits, salads, and of course a yummy dessert! The kids all play outside the entire time after they are finished eating. Us adults visited, played games and just relaxed the rest of the evening. We headed home after dark and got prepared for our Easter Sabbath Day.
Just a warning........I took LOTS of pictures!!

Not a couple minutes later, she dropped her cupcake in the grass. She was contemplating eating but could not figure out how to get the grass off. Grandma came to the rescue with another fresh cupcake and all was good again!
